Every leader has decisions they delay. Not because they don’t know what to do—but because the cost feels high.
These often include:
Difficult decisions about people
Uncertainty around changes to strategy
Conversations that may create conflict
Letting go of something that no longer works
Avoiding these decisions creates strain in the organization. Teams feel it. Progress slows. Issues compound.
The challenge is that avoidance often looks like “waiting for more information” or “the best timing.” In reality, it is only hesitation.
The impact is significant:
Opportunities are missed
Problems grow LARGER
Leadership credibility erodes
Strong leaders don’t avoid difficult decisions—they approach them with clarity and intention.
A useful question to ask yourself:
If I were to act on this today, what would I do?
........The answer is usually there.
The work is having the clarity—and support—to follow through.
